Jean is originally from South Korea and is passionate about staying in touch with her roots. This means that she is almost always cooking or eating Korean food, listening to Korean music, and watching Korean TV shows. Her background is also the reason she's passionate about educating individuals about being aware of others' cultures! Jean is also an avid fan of taking walks, listening to music, spending time with her loved ones, and painting!
Professional Affairs Committee
Responsible for enhancing the professional journey of all Smith students. It is responsible for creating and developing initiatives to better serve the Smith community professionally, and allowing students to successfully discover their career paths. The committee will serve as a liaison between the Office of Career Services, SUSA, Smith Administration, and the student body as a whole.

Outside of SUSA, Arya is a member of Empowering Women in Law, the South Asian Student Association, and the Women in Business Association. In her free time, she enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with friends. She hopes to use her experience on the committee and at the University of Maryland as a stepping stone to her future endeavours and her aspirations to become a corporate attorney.

Outside of SUSA, Joana is a member of the EIP Honors College as well as being a member of TASA and KCM. She was previously involved in the Smith Impact Consulting Fellowship Program and the Club Rowing Team. She also enjoys journaling, watching good movies and playing volleyball (very badly).

Outside of SUSA, Max is a Cultural Chair for the Jewish Student Union and the Social Media Chair for the UMD Spikeball Club. He loves anything related to college sports, especially college basketball. He also loves listening to any kind of music, whether it be rap or country, and binge watching shows like The West Wing and The Big Bang Theory. He is a Media, Self and Society scholar on campus, as well as a College Park Scholars Peer Mentor.
