Community Service Reflection
Hi SUSA!
Now that the semester has ended, we wanted to reflect and remind you about community service. Please continue to support Campus Pantry, especially as we transition back to in person and the number of students with food insecurity on campus increases. View our last blogpost to learn more about the organization.

What is community service?
Community service is unpaid work performed for the benefit and betterment of the community without any form of compensation. Community service is all about giving back! It doesn’t need to be dedicating a full day picking up cleaning a park, it can, but it can also be just donating some canned foods, spreading the word about an organization or charity, or picking up a water bottle on the ground to recycle. The kind gesture is not only benefiting others, but it can benefit you. Reflect on your actions and you’ll find yourself feeling happiness and enjoyment. Whether it’s in your hometown or on campus, during the summer or during the school semesters, please take time to contribute back to our amazing community.

Fun Fact:
According to a survey, 96% of volunteers believe that volunteering makes people happier in their lives! Adults who took part in volunteering when they were younger are twice as likely to do it in their adult lives than those who didn’t.
Our tip: if you know anyone who doesn’t volunteer themselves, try to convince them! It can be a fun challenge for you and you’d be helping them out!
